The functions of the company’s management and marketing are carried out by its headquarters located in Singapore.
In Korea, the #1 commercial plant in Ulsan produces metallocene based polyolefin products using the NexleneTM technology while the R&D center
in Daejeon is in charge of all the research activities of SSNC.
We are preparing for more (#2 and #3) commercial plants as our global projects.

So what is Nexlene, the rising star of KNC?

High performance polyethylene Nexlene developed using KNC’s own technology

Polyethylene uses ethylene produced by thermal cracking of naphtha as its raw material.
Nexlene, the next generation high performance polyethylene, was born by KNC’s intense research on (metallocene) catalysts that produce polymer products from raw materials such as ethylene and propylene.

KNC is the first company in Korea to have developed its own technology of catalyst, process and products and the Nexlene with its high performances will lead and expand KNC’s global market share.

History

High performance polyethylene Nexlene originally started using SK Geo Centric own technology and
continued its development through the new established JV, SABIC-SK Nexlene Company (SSNC), in 2015 onward.
